It's been two weeks since the meeting about Veterans Memorial Park's skatepark, and design contractor American Ramp Company has made some preliminary decisions about the park’s design. Currently, the breakdown of the park is:

  • 30% will be a vert bowl (Kidney Pool/ Combination Pool)
  • 35% will be flow course elements (Snake Run/ Quarter Pipes/ Flow Bowls)
  • 35% will include street plaza elements (Slant Ledges/ Stairs & Hubba Ledges/ Manual Pad/ Rails)

The Park Authority is now looking at options for the vert ramp. We are taking soil samples this week of the ground beneath the park in order to decide whether to build a new ramp or reposition the old one to fit in with the new design.

ARC is set to have two designs completed by next week. The copmany will present the designs at a second community meeting at Vets Park on Dec. 15.

when i read this I find it very difficult to believe the Vert Ramp will be able to be "relocated" I hope some of the preliminary decisions include building this "inground concrete" & NOT Modular Concrete!!!
