Balance Your Life - Healthy Choices Support Group
Join Sharron Baucom - Dale City Recreation Center's support group and learn how to make healthy choices.  There will be body measurements taken at the beginning and end of the session plus weekly weigh-ins.  Each week will also include a discussion on a fitness or nutrition topic with our fitness professional and the chance to share with fellow participants.

Group Fitness can be a great way to improve one’s level of cardio respiratory endurance, muscular strength/endurance, and flexibility. It’s also an excellent way to motivate one’s self through camaraderie. Plus it’s fun.

Whether it’s on land, water, or one of our specialty classes, Chinn Aquatics and Fitness Center's Group Fitness program can get you on the road to making new friends and enjoying the many benefits that exercise can bring to one’s life.

Our water classes include:
  • AK-WA-FIT: Hi-Lo aerobics class in shallow water.
  • DEEP WATER: Hi-Lo intensity aerobics class in deep water.
  • HYDRA PUMP: Combination cardiovascular and muscle strengthening workout in shallow water.
  • LIQUID STRETCH: A 30-minute flexibility training session in warm water.
  • SEASTRIDE: A shallow water aerobic workout emphasizing water walking at various strides, intensities and utilizing a variety of equipment.

Our land classes include:

  • YOGILATES: Combination of Pilates & Yoga
  • BODY FLEX: Group resistance training
  • STEP: Workout using adjustable bench.
  • TRI-FIT: Cardio and resistance training ending with a flexibility segment.
  • TGIF: High-energy cardio workouts featuring varying formats.
  • WEEKEND CHALLENGE: Cardiovascular class featuring a wide variety of formats to get your weekend started right.
  • ZUMBA: Low impact aerobic interval workout incorporates Latin American and Middle Eastern

Zumba
is fun, effective and simple!

  • Combine high energy with motivating music and unique moves and you may just dance your worries away with Zumba – a “feel happy” workout!

  • Zumba is based on the principle that a workout should be “fun and easy” so people will stay with it and achieve long-term health benefits.

  • Merengue, Salsa, Tango, Flamenco, Ballet Body, and even Belly Dancing…you get it all in one workout to keep your body challenged and burn more calories!

  • Every Monday, Wednesday At 7:30pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30pm, included on your aerobic pass or $9 drop- in fee

Specialty Classes:

Body Wedge 21
The latest and greatest from the Fitness World and we have it at the Chinn Aquatics and Fitness Center!!

Body Wedge 21 was designed to keep exercise easy, fun and efficient. With a unique 21 exercise routine developed specifically for the Body Wedge 21 you will target your abs, glut's, thighs, triceps, chest, and lower back. Body Wedge 21 helps you to use your own body weight and strength for resistance. Work at your own level! Class will consist of a combination of cardio and resistance training.

Fridays at 8 a.m.
Class is included in your aerobic pass or $9 drop-in fee.

"Pilates Class"
Days of week:  Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30pm, Tuesdays at 9:30am, Fridays at 8a.m. 
Ages: 16 & Older
For all ability levels. Pilates based concentrated movements and exercises that will result in greater balance and coordination, increases muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and enhanced body/mind connection. Bring mat or towel.
$9 drop-in fee or Free for the following Pass Plans:  SB-DCRC Premium; SB-DCRC/CAFC Gold; SB-DCRC/CAFC 6/12-month (Aerobics Only); SB-DCRC/CAFC 30-Day Aerobics

Hatha Yoga
Integral Yoga: Hatha Beginners/Intermediate
Hatha Yoga is an ancient, yet scientific system developed to revitalize the body and calm the mind. Yoga postures, breathing practices, relaxation and meditation work together to strengthen and purify the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, endocrine and nervous systems. New students will be introduced to Hatha Yoga gently and thoroughly. Bring a mat or towel.

Gentle Yoga
This class will help you relax and renew with basic yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques. If you are new to yoga, this class will introduce you to the basics in a gentle way. If you are an experienced student, this class provides an opportunity to enjoy a slower-paced practice.  Included in Pass Plan or a $9 drop-in fee.

Prenatal Yoga
Feel healthy and strong throughout your pregnancy AND extend those benefits to your baby. Bring a blanket and 2 pillows.
Saturdays at 9am.   A physician's written permission is required.

Yoga
Yoga conditions the physical body with postures to develop flexibility, strength, and good posture. In-depth study and practice of proper breathing assure oxygenation of the blood, which nourishes and repairs all of the body’s vital organs; in addition, proper breathing contributes to a healthy nervous system and clear, calm mind. Classes provide instruction of classic YOGA postures and breathing in non-competitive, meditative format. Please bring a mat or towel.

Body Flex
An awesome new strengthening class using barbells with adjustable weights to work every major muscle group in the body. This non-impact class is done to music and will help you strengthen, define and tone your muscles.
