Progressive Group Fitness
We have many progressive group fitness classes designed for a wide variety of ages and abilities. Our alternative and specialty classes are educational and follow progression to help our students move forward to better health and fitness. Take advantage of special classes, clinics, and workshops and find out how much FUN fitness and good health can be!
Youth Classes
Youth Strength & Conditioning (age 10-15)
Introduces students to weight training, stretching, and cardio exercise. Training is designed to enhance strength, flexibility, and endurance for fitness. Sport specific training programs are also available to help improve athletic performance, speed, power, agility, & injury prevention. After successful completion of class, enrollees will receive a special ID card which will allow 10-14 yr olds, in the company of an adult, use of the fitness wing.

Teen Strength & Conditioning (age 13-17)
Teens will learn their way around the weight room with this supervised introduction to dumbbell and barbell free-weight strength training. A variety of exercises for each of the basic muscle groups will be presented and participants will receive a set of detailed mini-charts illustrating safe training techniques and correct form. After successful completion of class, enrollees will receive a special ID card which will allow 13-14 yr olds, in the company of an adult, use of the fitness wing.

Triathlon Training Program (ages 13+)
A four-week training program leading up a local triathlon event. Each three hour session will help you prepare as you improve your swimming, biking and running skills. Learn from the experts about the proper equipment & techniques. Our coaches will provide not only training during the session, but also weekly training plans and specific recommendations for each individual. Must be able to swim 25 yds unassisted.

Pilates Allegro Reformer Small Group Sessions (Discounts do not apply.)
Level I - An affordable way to start learning the use of the Pilates equipment and enjoy the benefits of the Pilates Method! The use of specialized equipment will provide various levels of resistance within a full range of motion. Learn to challenge deep abdominal muscles to support the core with an emphasis on proper breathing and mechanics, enhancing body mobility, agility and stamina. Recommend Pilates Mat or Basic Pilates experience.
Level II - This level will bring a better sense of body awareness. Classes are designed to target the entire body through an invigorating workout. Clients can expect to learn more complex, versatile and challenging movements. Prerequisites: 8-Level I classes or instructor approval.

Pilates Allegro Reformer Plus Tower (Discounts do not apply.)
The Pilates Tower workout adds another level of challenge and development to your Pilates workouts. The tower is used in conjunction with the reformer. Its springs, bars and loops add more exercise variations and allow the user to have a greater sense of whether he or she is stabilizing and moving with proper integrity and control. Pilates Pink Ribbon Program
This is a specially designed program fro breast cancer survivors. Our Pink Ribbon Program-certified instructor Lynn Kirschner will guide the participants in Pilates exercises to help stretch and strengthen the shoulders, chest, back and abdominal muscles, allowing a woman to regain full range of motion to those areas affected by breast cancer surgery. Open Fitness
Our Group Fitness Open Schedule Programs will bring you the latest trends in group fitness and build on those you have already established. We offer a wide variety of both land- and water-based classes – from high energy cardio classes to power-packed strength classes to more grounded yoga and Pilates classes. Children in Group Fitness classes:
We have specific classes that are designed with our younger exercisers in mind. These are labeled as “Family” classes. Most are open to all ages with the exception of our Family Spin classes which are height-restricted due to the equipment used so our Family Spin participants must be at least 4”11’ approximately. Ask our Front Desk about our special fees for families participating in these family classes.
For the remainder of our schedule, the purpose of group fitness classes is to provide a safe environment for all participants working toward their fitness goals. To achieve this, these other classes are oriented to an adult level and we allow participants ages 16 and older. We do accommodate requests for those ages 12 to 15, with the following restrictions/understandings:
1. Classes are geared to the adult population.
2. Child must be participating and not disrupting.
3. Parents must be in attendance with the 12-15 year olds,
4. The group fitness instructor has the ultimate say as to whether a 12-15 year old can attend the class.
For children younger than age 12, permission would have to be granted by the Group Fitness Supervisor, on a case-by-case basis.

Bryan Respess has more than 20 years experience as a certified Massage Therapist. He is nationally certified as well as licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. Originally trained in San Diego, California, as a Holistic Health Practitioner, he provides clinical massage treatments in an intuitive format. With more than 21 different modalities, he provides a higher level of massage treatment than normally expected. Additionally he is an energetic healer with Reiki and The Body Talk System.
