Batting Cage

We Need Volunteer Coaches!

We are recruiting parents to serve as coaches for our basketball, soccer, and baseball teams. Expert knowledge or experience is not required, just a desire to work with kids and help them have fun with sports. We provide equipment and 50% discount on your child’s registration of team coached. If you are interested, please contact kremick@pwcparks.org

Coaching Certification
Get certified with www.nays.org (caution: clicking this link will take you away from the Park Authority's website in a new window) and have your certification fee (up to $25) credited towards your Park Authority account with Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center league registration*. No experience required and is an easy and fun process that provides a multitude of coaching resources.

*This coaching certification credit is not available with other Park Authority league registrations. This credit is only available to Sharron Baucom - Dale City Recreation Center league registrations.

TRIPLE THREAT CO-ED COMPETITIVE BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Play for Dale City or Chinn! This full court, eight week competitive league will have Saturday games played at CAFC or SBDCRC and a mid week practice at team site. Volunteer coaches are needed and will receive a 50% discount off one registration, plus applicable coach certification credit. Team shirts are included in program fee. Register at preferred site only. Players not meeting on draft day will be placed on teams as needed.

All children registered prior to deadline will be placed on a team, but that does not assure the team of having a coach, so please consider coaching your child!

Winter League

Ages: 10 - 11 year old children

TRIPLE THREAT LEAGUE AVAILABLE AGAIN IN FALL 2008

LIL' SHOOTERS BASKETBALL LEAGUE

This instructional league has two practices and six games that focus on the fundamentals of the game. Volunteer coaches are needed and will receive a 50% discount off one registration, plus applicable coach certification credit. Team shirts are included.

All children registered prior to deadline will be placed on a team, but that does not assure the team of having a coach, so please consider coaching your child!

Summer League:

Ages: 6 - 11 year old children
Day: Saturday
Dates: May 17, 31, June 7, 14, 21, 28, July 12, 19 (no games on May 24 or July 5)
Times: One hour games between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. (parents will be notified by coach after coach's meeting)
Location: Main gym, Sharron Baucom - Dale City Recreation Center
Fee: $52 per child, $62 per child after registration deadline
Pre-registration: Same team is March 8 and team transfer or age up is March 29 for all winter Lil' Shooters league coaches participants
Open Registration Date: mid-April

Coach's meeting: Wednesday, May 7 at 8 p.m.
Attendance is mandatory for coaches from each team. All league information will be discussed.

SOCCER STRIDES LEAGUE

A 10-week indoor instructional soccer league is divided into two age groups. Ages 4 and 5 will play three-on-three. The seasons consist of two practices and six games. Volunteer coaches will receive a 50% discount for coaching in this program, plus applicable coach certification credit. Team shirts are included. Shin-guards required.

All children registered prior to deadline will be placed on a team, but that does not assure the team of having a coach, so please consider coaching your child!

Summer League:

Ages: 4 - 7 year old children

Dates: May 18, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, July 13, 20 (no games on May 25 or July 6)
Times: One hour games between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (parents will be notified by coach after coach's meeting)

Fee: $52 per child, $62 per child after registration deadline

LIL' HITTERS T-BALL LEAGUE

An instructional 8-week program for 4 and 5 year old children that focuses on FUN and learning. Volunteer coaches are needed and will receive a 50% discount, plus applicable coach certification credit. The season will consist of two 1-hour practices and six 1-hour games. Shirts are included in program fee and will be distributed by coaches. See dates and times below.

LIL' HITTERS COACH PITCH LEAGUE

This instructional, non-competitive league for 6 and 7 year old children runs congruent to T-Ball League. See dates and times below.

All children registered prior to deadline will be placed on a team, but that does not assure the team of having a coach, so please consider coaching your child!

GIRL'S BASKETBALL SKILLS CLINIC

A girls only skills clinic to improve your games. Instructor Denise Shreffler has 7 years of basketball experience and conditioning training.

Spring Class (Session 1)

UK PETITE SOCCER CLASS

A fun introduction to the world of soccer for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. The curriculum is based on a games-based approach to teaching soccer within a fun, learning-maximizing activity environment. Activities are fantasy-based involving role playing and are designed to maximize the number of touches each player has on the ball with their feet! Each child receives attention in a small group setting from one of U.K. Elite Soccer’s professional British coaches. Parents are welcome to stay and join in the fun!

Spring Class (Session 2)

Ages: 3 to 5 year old children

Times: Parents may register for a one hour class held between 11 a.m. and noon OR 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

SOCCER SMARTS 1

It’s time to start kicking it up! Basic soccer fundamentals are what we strive to teach in this class. Learning and practice are the keys to success. Shin-guards required.
