Balance Your Life - Healthy Choices Support Group
Join Sharron Baucom - Dale City Recreation Center's support group and learn how to make healthy choices.  There will be body measurements taken at the beginning and end of the session plus weekly weigh-ins.  Each week will also include a discussion on a fitness or nutrition topic with our fitness professional and the chance to share with fellow participants.

Veteran’s Park Offers Special Programs,
Fun Classes and Childcare Opportunities for USO Families

Childcare: Licensed Playschool (ages 3-5).   (Children must meet entrance age requirements by 9/30/07. Copies of Physical Exam, Immunization Record, and Birth Certificate are to be provided by the first day of class. Potty training required.)

At Veterans Memorial Park we are pleased to offer fun programs for Children ages 3-5, and great programs for Youths and Adults.

Community Clean Up at the Veteran's Park Restoration Site
The 2000 Veterans Park restoration was a huge success!
Veterans Park still needs help!
The pond is now buffered by a diversity of plants that protect it from pollution and improve the scenic appearance. Volunteers are needed to keep this area clean! We need help removing nonnative invasive plants, pruning trees and picking up trash.

Nature Walk - Explore Marumsco Marsh
Marumsco Creek is a shallow creek that flows into Belmont Bay along Prince William's Potomac River shoreline. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manages most of the adjacent marsh. The nature trail at Veteran's Park provides a good view of this wetland habitat, which is often filled to capacity with waterfowl. Join us and discover more about local waterfowl, raptors, woodland butterflies, beavers and other wildlife.

Cartooning Mini Camp (6-13 year olds)
It is time for cartoon lovers to learn to draw their own cartoons. Students will learn a variety of basic cartoon techniques, while having fun. Learn simple cartoon characters, how to show facial expressions, show movement, and action sequences. Pencils, color pencils, markers will be used.

Magic and Illusions (Ages 8-12)
This mini camp will feature the world famous magician Nefre, Queen of Magic, who will teach the art of illusions using ordinary materials from around the house, to perform extraordinary feats! On the last day of camp, those who have perfected their craft will treat campers to a magic show, which will be followed by a short performance by Nefre. Students will work together on projects that teach how magic applies to science, math, history and special effects.

CSI Camp for Young Detectives (6-13 year olds)
The CSI is an in-depth, engaging and educational experience that combines mystery and investigation. Young detectives will conduct hand-on forensic science tests, interviews and investigations on evidence found at the “crime scene” that add up to a unique and fun way to stretch young people’s imagination.
