Balance Your Life - Healthy Choices Support Group
Join Sharron Baucom - Dale City Recreation Center's support group and learn how to make healthy choices.  There will be body measurements taken at the beginning and end of the session plus weekly weigh-ins.  Each week will also include a discussion on a fitness or nutrition topic with our fitness professional and the chance to share with fellow participants.

    PAYMENT AND RESERVATION GUIDELINES

    • For your convenience we accept MasterCard, Visa, company/personal checks and cash. (Please note that no checks will be accepted within fourteen (14) days of your rental)
    • All rental contracts must be submitted at least fourteen (14) days prior to requested date.
    • A copy of the contact person's driver's license must accompany rental contract - for verification purposes only.
    • Rental groups must pay all fees at the time of reservation.  WE DO NOT PENCIL IN.
    • If cancellation is not made thirty (30) days in advance of scheduled date-100% of remitted fees will be forfeited.
    • Any form of misrepresentation by the user(s) will result in forfeiture of the contract and all monies involved and the rental may be canceled at the discretion of the Park Authority Management/Park Authority Security/ Prince William County Police Department.
    • Rental contracts received less than fourteen (14) days in advance of rental date may not be approved.
    • We reserve the right to conduct a background investigation of a rental group.
    • All rentals are subject to a five (5) day processing period.
    ALCOHOL: HOW TO OBTAIN AN ALCOHOL BANQUET LICENSE
    Alcohol is by permit only and must be approved by this office first and at least 14 days in advance of your rental date. An alcohol fee of $35 is payable to the Prince William County Park Authority. You then take or mail the approved rental contract with a completed ABC Board application to the ABC Board in Alexandria. Directions and phone number are available from this office. The ABC Board charges $55 for their banquet license and this fee is separate from the $35 charged by the Park Authority. Your alcohol permit must be posted throughout your rental and the person listed on the permit must be present at all times during the rental. Alcohol consumption must cease one (1) hour prior to the ending time listed on contract. For groups having alcohol a specific area will be roped off and all alcoholic beverages must be consumed within this defined space.
    SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
    If you and/or your business are planning on bringing in a moonbounce, pony rides, etc. - these items must be listed on your rental contract and an insurance waiver from the company providing these services must be on file at the park location. The insurance policy must be a minimum of one million dollars and list the Park Authority as co-insured . If you and/or your group are incorporating these type of activities into your rental an additional fee of $25 will be charged.
    Note: some sites cannot accommodate these types of activities, please check with the site manager.

    POLICE/RANGER COVERAGE
    Depending on the size of your group and the type of function/event you will be holding, additional police coverage may be required. If it is determined by the Park Authority and/or the Police Department that this coverage is needed, an additional fee of $40/hour will be assessed to your group to cover these costs.
    USE OF VETERANS PARK POOL

    If your group would like to utilize the pool at Veterans Park during your rental time there are a few discount plans in place for groups.
    Punch Passes - We offer a 20 punch pass. These passes, which expire at the end of the season, can used by adults and children and can be purchased at the Community Center or at the Pool front gate during operating hours. Fees for family punch passes are $60 and our Organization/Business punch pass is $65.

    Group Rates - if you do not wish to purchase a punch pass and your group consists of 20 or more, you are eligible to receive a 15% discount rate for adult and child pool admissions. The Park Manager must receive 48 hours notice from any group wanting to take advantage of this group rate.
    Please note that renting a pavilion area at Veterans Park does not entitle you to free use of pool and all discounts outlined above occur during pool operating hours - Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Separate fees and policies apply to groups wanting to rent our pool during non-operating hours. If you are interested in renting the pool area, please ask one of our customer service representatives for pool rental information.

    MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
    • Restrooms are located at the Community Center.
    • The Community Center is open from 9am - 1pm on Saturdays. The Center is closed on Sundays.
    • Gas grills are permitted with rental groups only.
    PARK CLOSING TIMES

    In accordance with park closing standards, parks without exterior lighting will follow the schedule below. Please use the following times as a guideline when planning the hours of your event
    • January 1 to February 15               5:30pm
    • February 16 to March 8                  6:00pm
    • March 9 to March 30                       6:30pm
    • March 31 to April 30                        7:00pm
    • May 1 to May 31                               7:30pm
    • June 1 to August 16                        8:00pm
    • August 17 to September 6             7:30pm
    • September 7 to September 25     7:00pm
    • September 26 to October 15         6:30pm
    • October 16 to November 2             6:00pm
    • November 2                                      4:30pm


    SECURITY DEPOSITS
    $100 if rental group is over 150 people. If rental group is less than 150 a security deposit is not needed. The security deposit is refundable if the area is left in good clean order and no damage has been done. Refunds will be issued by our main office within 10 to 15 business days, to the name listed on contract.

    SOFTBALL FIELD #7
    If renting the Large Pavilion, Tent area, or Small Pavilion, the first two hours are free, but you must reserve the field. If the field is not reserved, it is available on a first come basis. Additional two hour blocks of time are $15.

    ALCOHOL
    The alcohol fee payable to the Park Authority is $35. Upon approval, your rental contract must be taken to the ABC Board in order to obtain the needed permit. A fee of $55 will be charged by the ABC Board. Permit must be posted at site and the person who is issued the permit must be present throughout the duration of the rental.

    POLICE/RANGER FEE
    Depending on the size of your group and the type of function/event you will be holding, police coverage may be required. If it is determined that this coverage is needed, an additional fee of $40/hour will be assessed to your group.

    ELECTRICITY
    Electricity is available only at the Large Pavilion. Park Authority staff will connect/disconnect the electricity.

    Parking is on a first come first serve basis throughout the park.
