The Locust Shade Pond will be stocked with trout by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fish. The last trout stocking for the spring 2010 season was on March 11. Due to flooding in the Tennesse area, the spring stocking of channel ctfish will be delayed until late May or early June. There are also native Bass, Bluegill and Crappie in the lake.
For those age 16 and above a Freshwater Virginia State Fishing License is required all year and a Trout Virginia State Fishing License is required November 1 through April 30. There are no license requirements for those under age 16.
There is no permit required from Locust Shade Park.

Our PEDAL BOATS operate May - September , weekends only.
Cost is $4.00 per 1/2 hours (4 seater boats for 2 adults, 2 children max).
